Hear! Hear! Though I do wonder if there was more to this volte-face than simply a desire to respect "the beauty and the harmony of this architectural jewel." If that's all there is to it, it would seem that proper liturgical orientation is simply a matter of achieving architectural harmony.

Quite right! They are in denial concerning the high probability that Pope Benedict will reform the Novus Ordo.
